The waitstaff were very friendly as was the bartender who thanked us for coming as we left. This is a place that definately has the feel of a neighborhood place. As it turns out their menu shows a Red and a White Zin so I guess this was an issue of waitstaff not knowing their inventory. My husband enjoyed two local beers and I ordered a glass of Zin but was told they only had white Zin so I ordered a Pinot Noir instead. Mac and Cheese was uninspired and peanut slaw (which our waitress said is the only slaw she eats) was heavy on vinegar with raw peanuts added. Pulled pork had a very sweet jarred variety sauce. Mashed potatoes had burned clumps throughout from obviously being scorched sitting in bainmarie. Chicken skin looked crisp but was rubbery. I opted for the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and mixed veg. My husband And I started by sharing a Caesar salad. We were taken to the dining room and given a booth under a drafty air conditioner. The game was on behind the bar which was full of people. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by waitstaff in football jerseys. After a day spent on a long country drive we swung off the Taconic to catch dinner. I have been wanting to check this place out for awhile now.
